NavWiz 3.2 — Administration and Monitoring

5 min read · NavWiz

Network Configuration

The Network Connections page is accessed via ConfigPanel > System > Network Connections. It displays the AMR hostname, network scheme, and connection status of each available Ethernet port.

Network Configuration Editor — View and configure Ethernet port network settings. Ports can be set to static IP or DHCP. Ports assigned to Top Lidar, Front Lidar, and Rear Lidar cannot be reconfigured to prevent disrupting lidar functionality.

Hostname Editor — Change the hostname reported by NavWiz to the network.

HTTPS Settings Editor — Switch between HTTPS and HTTP mode. Users can upload manually generated private keys and certificates, or click Generate Certificate to auto-generate them. These configurations are required to enable HTTPS mode.

EAP Settings — Used only for connecting the AMR to a WPA2-Enterprise network. Refer to the WiFi connection section for configuration details.

Date & Time — Accessible via ConfigPanel > Date Time (supervisor accounts only). Options include enabling automatic NTP synchronization, setting a custom NTP server address, and viewing synchronization status. When the executor mode is set to DFleet, the NTP server is automatically configured to the DFleet server IP.

AGV Activities and Reporting

The AGV Activities section in ConfigPanel tracks all operational activities of the AMR with start time, end time, duration, and activity codes.

The section has four tabs:

TabDescription
ListLists AGV operational activities with timestamps, duration, and activity codes
DownloadsDownload monthly AGV activity data in CSV format
ReportVisualizes monthly AMR activities through Daily and Overall Activity Breakdown charts
ConfigurationModify labels associated with each activity code

Activity Codes Reference (ordered by precedence, high to low):

Completed Tasks — View completed tasks (last 7 days), download monthly task lists, and view reports with visualizations for task count, duration, and status breakdowns (combined, count-only, and duration-only tabs).

System Monitor, Diagnostics, and Logs

NavWiz provides several monitoring and logging tools accessible from the ConfigPanel under System Log and System Monitor.

System Monitor — Displays memory usage (actual memory and swap space) and hard disk usage with details such as total space, used space, free space, shared space, buffer/cache, and available space. Access via ConfigPanel > System Monitor.

Map Quality Score — Provides a report about the quality of the map for trackless navigation. While the AMR roams, it tracks compatibility between the actual scene and the raw map. Quality scores are updated every 5 minutes and rotate daily. Access via ConfigPanel > Map Quality Score.

Custom Log — A live-updating log viewer where supervisors can filter messages by level: INFO, WARNING, or ERROR. Tick the Auto-scroll checkbox to follow new messages automatically. Access via ConfigPanel > System Log > Custom Log.

Main Log Files — Download all main system logs, typically required for troubleshooting. Access via ConfigPanel > System Log > Main Log Files.

Peripheral Log Files — Download logs for all peripherals running under the system. Useful for troubleshooting peripheral-related issues. Access via ConfigPanel > System Log > Peripheral Log Files.

Diagnostics — View and download diagnostics logs. These logs are recorded in CSV format during the day and compressed to GZIP format at end of day (the original CSV is then emptied). Click the table icon to view a diagnostics log inline. Access via ConfigPanel > System Log > Diagnostics.

Download Log — Select a date range and download a single bundled file containing all logs within that range. Access via ConfigPanel > System Log > Download Log.

Search — The ConfigPanel search bar allows searching for task templates, stations, global parameters, registers, and global variables. Results show where the searched object is referenced across task templates, task triggers, or maps.

Software Updates and Hardware Plugins

NavWiz provides three maintenance features accessible from the Help page in ConfigPanel.

Check for Updates — Update NavWiz by connecting a USB pen drive containing the NavWiz Bootable Installer to the AMR USB port. Select the USB pen drive as the Source in Step 1 of the update check. Refer to the NavWiz Bootable Installer Guide for creating a bootable installer.

Manage Hardware Plugin — Admin-only feature for updating the AMR's hardware plugin. This update is generally not required unless hardware changes necessitate a plugin update.

Manage Patch — Allows supervisor or admin accounts to upload software patches to NavWiz. Patches must be in .tar format. After clicking Apply Patch, the UI provides real-time progress updates until "PATCH COMPLETED!" appears.

Backup and Restore — Only supervisor and admin accounts can perform backup and restore operations. It is advisable to backup before editing any NavWiz settings.

For Backup, click "Backup Settings to File" to download a .gz backup file (e.g., backup_20161027_155016.gz). Advanced Backup allows selecting specific components to back up.

For Restore, click "Choose File" and select a backup file. After uploading, choose which components to restore. Only admin accounts can restore protected parameters.

Advanced Restore provides four modes:

ModeDescription
Restore (clear local)Clears local component data before restoring selected data
Import (overwrite local)Does not clear local data; imported data replaces data with matching IDs
Import (keep local)Does not clear local data; skips imported data where matching IDs exist locally
Import (keep both)Does not clear local data; renames imported data if IDs match, updating dependencies
